Why study the book of Ruth?
What does the happenings in a rural grain field over three thousand years ago have to do with us today? Probably more than we think. Ruth is a story of universal human experience, speaking to the most fundamental human needs. Who cannot relate to the death of a spouse, parent, or child? Who cannot relate to the idealistic hopes of youth unrealized and lost as time and death removes all opportunities? The book of Ruth has something to say and we want to find out what the message is.
